Differences
I know that I'm not supposed to compare our two boys, but there are several differences of note between Nathaniel and how Russell was as a newborn. Nathaniel is only 4 weeks old, and he has already taken 3 bottles of breastmilk. Russell took only one and never would take a bottle again. I'm excited that Rory is willing to give him a bottle every couple of days, as this means an occasional night out or afternoon free without the kids. Secondly, last night was the second time that Nathaniel has gone for 5 hours between feedings. Russell did start sleeping through the night (5-6 hour strech) at 8 weeks consistently, but Nathaniel may be ahead of him already. Nathaniel also likes to sleep more than Russell did then or does now. This morning I was nursing Nathaniel in his room around 5:20 a.m., and I heard Russell go from his room to Rory and I's. He had gotten up at 5 a.m. and we had persuaded him to go back to bed, but obviously he didn't go back to sleep! Russell and I had an early breakfast, while Nathaniel slept until 7:30 a.m. God has a sense of humor, doesn't he?
